Works In Progress

It’s exactly what it says on the tin. These are all the projects I’m either currently working on or planning to work on in the near future. I’m not entirely sure how to format this page, so you’ll have to bear with me. Starting off in no particular order:

Sovereign Echoes
Genre: Cosmic Horror
Length: Novella, currently 40,000 words with room to add more.
Writing Stage: Revision 4 or 5, I lost count
Estimated Completion Date: Summer 2024
Summary: After overthrowing his father’s old regime and claiming the throne for himself, Alexander must learn to rule while undoing the sinister laws enacted by his predecessor. In attempting to bring his people back from the brink of calamity, Alexander learns the truth behind his father’s twisted ways and must contend with the same forces. Joined by his greatest ally, the militaristic Julius, and his father’s old advisor, the enigmatic foreigner known simply as Advi, Alexander must work toward a brighter future as the past slowly creeps up behind them, threatening to take him down the same dark path.

This project has been in the works since March of 2023, and the transformation from where it was to where it is now blows me away. I’ve learned so much about writing in the past year, and there’s still so much more to learn. I’ll be going the traditional publishing route with this one, so when it’s coming out is anybody’s guess.

Consciousness of a Collective Mind
Genre: Horror/Thriller
Length: Novel (eventually)
Writing Stage: Drafting
Estimated Completion Date: Probably 2026 if I had to guess
Summary: At the direction of his therapist, Jeremy obtains a journal in which he is to record his thoughts and feelings to help manage his emotions. After writing in it for the first time, he awakens the following morning to learn that he is no longer himself. His mind is intact, but he inhabits the body of another person, then another the following day, then another, cycling through a group of individuals until finally returning to his own body and beginning the cycle all over again. In inhabiting all these other peoples’ lives, Jeremy grows to appreciate his own and wants to begin doing right not just by himself, but by everyone else he’s come to know in this way. That desire is immediately tested when individuals in the group slowly begin dying off, and he must work with the survivors to figure out who is killing them and how to put a stop to it.

I started working on this one back during National Novel Writing Month of 2023. It’s one of my weirder concepts, and I’m not certain I’ll be able to pull it off. Nonetheless, it’s a fun concept that I want to keep playing around with.

Harbinger
Genre: Cosmic Horror
Length: Short Story-Novella
Writing Stage: Drafting
Estimated Completion Date: October 2024
Summary: Following the discovery of a strange substance in a local man’s back yard, a research facility, the Howard Lab springs up as if overnight to study it. Clara Augustine, among many others, is recruited and brought to the research facility to find potential uses for the substance. When it seems that the substance is a net positive for humanity, able to cure injury, sickness, and disease, a rumbling emanates from beneath the facility and its terrible origin is revealed.

This project was inspired by a group of friends who asked me to work on another project with them and marks the first time I’ve really tried to pinpoint an exact location and time period in which a story takes place. I hope they like it when it’s done.

My name is T. E. Woodard

And I welcome you to my small plot of the internet. I’m a horror author with a penchant for scarring the minds of characters and allowing discomfort to linger for both them and my audience. There are fates far worse than death, after all.

All of my e-format works are available for free, typically through PDF downloads or the occasional post on other websites. Enjoyment of literature shouldn’t be gated by economic factors, so read and share to your heart’s content. I do also have paperback/hardback versions available of some things for about as low-cost as I can reasonably make them if that’s your sort of thing.

Social Media

I’ve fallen off of social media for the most part after realizing I spent way too much time on it. That said, if you want to follow me on them, I’d prefer you at least have the correct links on the off chance someone tries to impersonate me.
